We can build any street or Race shortblock for your needs.

It doesnt matter if you have the opne deck, semi cloased deck or closed deck block.  The cost is the same.

This particular short block is ideal for the daily driver or the occasional drag or circuit/track day enthusiast driver who wants to run high horsepower and be reliable at the same time.

We first start with the a EJ20 or EJ25 block (your choice) and dissasemble the entire block, thoroughly cleaning and checking everything. After being stripped down, the block is sonic checked for any flaws, cracks, or imperfections.

Then the crank is also thoroughly checked. Once certified through this process the buildup begins.

This Stage 2 Block is machined and fitted with the dry ductile Iron sleeves.  The sleeves are made from Billet Blank steel blocks.  The EJ block is heated prior to the installtion process of the new custom sleeves being pressed into place.

Typically when a short block is being sleeved it means only 1 thing, its being made to produce some serious power with reliabilty in mind.

We then start by boring and honing out the block dependent on what size piston you go for, 92.00mm, 92.50mm or 93.00mm (all EJ20 Blocks) or 99.50mm, 100.00mm or 100.50mm (all EJ25 Blocks) . For a Stage 2 street/track engine like this we recomend the largest off the shelf piston set we can get use.  Either the 93.00mm pistons for the EJ20 blocks OR 100.50mm pistons for the EJ25 blocks. 

Each cylinder is setup for each individual piston and ring sets gapped for a high horsepower engine.

The Crankshaft is FULLY balanced and journals micro polished.  Please note, for an optional extra charge we can offer nitrided and billet cranks also.

Pistons and conrods are fully balanced and weight matched to each other and for all cylinders. So any inperfections from the production factory (if any) are zero'ed out.

Once fully balanced, the assembly process begins where each bearing is checked for appropriate clearances. We can choose a varying array of bearings for your specific needs and power output but mainly use Clevite or ACL Bearings including NEW thrust bearings from ACL or Clevite.

The whole short block is assembled with the ARP Subaru Pro Series High Tensile block casing bolts.  ARP Head Stud Kit is an optional extra charge.

We also check the block casings for any un-eveness and deck them as necessary noting how much is taken off and making sure EQUAL amounts are taken off for each block casing.  For a perfect end/overall compression ratio. This is also so there is a perfectly flat surface for your head gaskets and helps elimate the possibility of failure.

So to sum up with this setup you get the following within this price:

- ALL Machining Work and Labour including balancing, cleaning, tolerence checking, sonic and pressure testing. Re-worked oil and water passages.
- Wossner OR Cosworth Aluminum Forged Piston Kit (CP or Manley Pistons are extra charge), 8.0:1 CR 1992-1998 EJ20 blocks or 9.0:1 CR 1998-2000 EJ20 blocks and 9.0:1 CR 2000-2011 EJ20 & EJ25 blocks.
- PEC OR ZRP H Beam Connecting Rods Set with ARP 2000 Rod Bolts. (rod bolts rated at 260,000 psi strength) (Carrillo, Eagle, Wossner or Manely Rods are extra charge).
- ACL Or Clevite Race Bearings (standard size width) SET, includes Conrod Bearings, Main cap (crank) bearings AND Thrust Bearings (Thrust washers).
- Custom made Block Sleeving procedure and installtion.

- ARP Pro series high tensile EJ20 / EJ25 Block Casing Bolts.
- ALL Labour charges to build to an extremely high and reliable spec.

Optional O rings modifications for use with copper headgaskets can be done for an additional charge of 180 + vat.

Optional EJ25 Crank into the EJ20 block can also be used within this price, but it doesnt cover the cost of the EJ25 crank so if you have an EJ25 crank and wish to use it in your EJ20 block there will be no extra charge.

This price does not include an exchange for your old short block that is presumed not to be damaged.  If you cannot provide a short block with it's original crankshaft or if it is to be found beyond use or not re-usable then there will be a 300 additional surcharge to this order.  Once YOUR block has been given the "OK" we will refund your 300 innitial deposit.

This short block will be delivered with a folder FULL of useful infomration regarding your engines entire specification from bearing sizes to clearneces, ring gaps, torque settings etc etc, fully certified to industry standards for measrung and tooling accuracy.

In addition, we will not describe to you every little single thing we do to make our blocks and and engines last the longest and hold the most power reliabily. We have spent a lot of time and money in research and development in the past 10 years to make the best engines around. Sorry, but we are not going to lay out every last detail here for our competitors to see what we do that they do not.  We have built many High end, high horsepower engines over the past 10 years or so and we know what is needed to make the best and most reliable engines around.
